Osric (Jean Reno)

My father, Osric, was the eldest of my grandfather’s acknowledged children and none now living except Uncle Benedict remember him. Although the dissolution of my grandfather’s marriage to Cymnea never explicitly threatened his status as heir to Amber, it seems to have thwarted Osric’s ambition, causing Oberon to dispose of his two eldest sons in battle.

She bore Dad two other sons also -- Osric and Finndo. Then -- how does one put these things? -- Faiella bore Eric. After that, Dad found some defect in his marriage with Cymnea and had it dissolved ... from the beginning ...

Didn’t that make all of them illegitimate?

Well, it left their status less certain. Osric and Finndo were more than irritated, as I understand it, but they died shortly thereafter.

Pastoral (Nicole de Boer)

Pastoral was an Amber resident when she met and wed Osric. She came from a good family -- grandmother Cymnea approved of the union. I can only guess that in the years I have been kept from home, she has passed. It saddens me, of course. But it has been so many years...

Meanwhile, Finndo fell for a giantess in shadow, and they begat Bestla. The frost giant Bor & the giantess Bestla begat Odin (not that Odin, a self-proclaimed god, speaks of his parents much). Odin & Grid begat Vidar. Vidar & Fiona begat Brita. And where'd Fiona come from? Oberon & Clarissa.

So doing the math, I'm 25% blood of Oberon, while my student, Brita, is 28.125% Oberon's blood. Of course, she's got a good amount of giant in her as well.
